Oncology Nurse Practitioner

I'm a cancer care practitioner with over 23 years of experience caring for those undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. In this time, I have extensive experience in helping survivors regain their health and strength after treatment is completed.

I completed my undergraduate work at the University of Nevada, Reno earning a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and working for 8 years as a bedside nurse. I went on to pursue a Masters of Science from the University of California, San Francisco where my focus was oncology nursing, and allowing me to practice as an oncology clinical nurse specialist. In this role, I was able to improve the cancer care experience for patients through process improvement. I loved this role, but knew I could do more. Which is why I completed a post-Master's Nurse Practitioner Certificate through the University of Massachusetts, Boston.

Since completing my NP education in 2012, I have worked for two large healthcare systems which allowed me to fine tune my skills in treatment, symptom management and survivorship.

My focus is always to take a holistic approach to developing the best plan of care for each patient. And through telemedicine, I am able to work with patients in different parts of the country.

Because of my interest in understanding the root cause of disease, I continue my education with the Institute of Functional Medicine.

On a personal note, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two sons. I have a daily exercise and meditation practice as I believe it is important to continue my own journey towards optimal health.
